The IDLE Project was founded in memory of Oliver Lane to support individuals and families impacted by mental health and addiction through compassionate resources, meaningful connection, and a strong sense of community.
The Idle Project was founded in 2026 in memory of Oliver D. Lane who lost his struggle with mental health and addiction in October of 2025. Through our profound loss, The IDLE Project was created. A nonprofit, tax except incorporation.
The mission of The IDLE Project is to support individuals facing mental health and addiction challenges, as well as the families and loved ones impacted by them, by providing compassionate resources, fostering connection, and promoting hope within our community—supporting people through life’s difficult moments.
It takes a village--or in our case, an island. The IDLE Project is founded on community and connection. Based on Martha's Vineyard where Oliver was born and raised, our board of directors is wide spread and our reach is beyond our island home.
